SAR Corp is actively recruiting for full time and part time Board Eligible or Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians to serve as a Staff Emergency Room Physician at the Wilford Hall Medical Center on Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX.
The Emergency Room, a Level I Trauma Center that receives both medical and trauma patients from the civilian community as well as military members and their families, is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The Physician is scheduled for eight (8) hour shifts for a maximum of 40 hours a week. Physician will also take part in Residency Training and lectures.
Physician shall perform limited (up to twice a month) on-call duty in addition to the regular duty hours (i.e. evenings, weekends, military training holidays and legal federal holidays) as scheduled.
The ideal candidate will:
Hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree (MD) from an accredited college approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, or Doctor of Osteopathy Degree (DO) from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association.
Have a minimum of two years of experience within the past three years as ER Physician and currently clinically practicing.
Shall have and maintain a valid, unrestricted license in any state, territory or province of the US to practice medicine and a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number certificate.
Have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications or the ability to obtain within 2 weeks of acceptance of position.
